Two wooden bookends in original colour, possibly Amsterdam School.
Art Deco was a popular international style movement that flourished between 1920-1939. The main feature of Art Deco (and its distinction from the more organic Art Nouveau) is its embrace of technology in addition to traditional motifs. The style is often characterized by rich colours, geometric figures and lavish ornamentation. We characterize these bookends as the Amsterdam School, after the Dutch movement that was especially important in architecture.
Horizontal 12.5 cm, vertical 14.5 cm, 7.5 wide.
