Hans Veneman (Vroomshoop 1939 – Enschede 1991). This bird is painted in the CoBrA style following the 1948-1951 art movement. Veneman made use of the so called BKR; ‘Beeldende Kunst Regeling’ (1956-1987) that supported artists receiving a monthly salary in return. Veneman described his style as ‘new realism’. We bought this bird from an artist friend who knew the painter personally.
