Ball run made in the HOMAS factory in Assen (Netherlands; Drenthe province). The company (1923-1983), started and build up by Hendrikus Hommes, has produced a wide variety of wooden family home games. The development of computer games meant the end of the company. More information on this company can be found at http://inenomassen.nl/homas.html (in Dutch). This ball run presumably originates from the 1950s. The instructions, ‘Spelregels voor de Vlieg-Race: ELFSTEDENTOCHT’, at the back, explains the game. Each player tries to reach as many cities as possible with twelve solid glass balls. Each city is worth points, just as the intermediary distance in two consecutive cities. The city of Assen, where the Homas factory is located, gives a bonus. Restored by supplementing five pins and general polishing. A ball run combining topography and mathematics: he run has been used well!
