In the object People from the past (see Portfolio) I tell the story of the large collection of lead figurines that I bought from a hobbyist who scans the soil on holiday with a metal detector.
The statues date between 1700 and 1850. Where the animals have been children’s toys, the statue of Saint Francis (recognizable by the three buttons on his cowl) is of a religious nature.
After a very long time underground, these objects are now on display. The animals are all depicted lifelike, with details such as a halter or a saddle. The taurus is powerful and strong (therefore in a black environment) and the painted horse has a soft appearance (therefore in lighter wood and whitewash paint).
All standards are made of oak wood, with the exception of the painted horse, which is made of pine. I can of course send photos from different angles (only 12 pictures fit my gallery).
Taurus: 24 €
Horse with steel wire: 18 €
Horse with rope: 18 €: sold
Painted horse: 14 €
Dromedary: 20 €
Carousel horse: 29 €: sold
Francis: 18 €

Hi Inge,
Leuke website. Ik heb interesse in ALLE nog steeds op de markt zijende Francis & The Animals en het Cabinet de Geie. Kun je mij een goede prijs maken?
Veel groeten,
