Every historian’s dream … to replace the roof of an old house and to find encounter a pile of letters. This happened to a friend and she shared the them with me. The house is located in Poland, in Krzywa. The letters date from 1911 to 1917 and therefore partly span the First World War. In these years Krzywa was part of Germany and was called Kreibau. With great pleasure and gratitude for being part of this wonderful adventure I made a first transcript of the documents.
