The name Richard Richèse Van Hauwaert is a pseudonym of Richard Julien van Hauwaert. He lives and works in Bruges Sint Kruis and is a modern visual artist. The pseudonym refers to the French word ‘richesse’ which means wealth. ‘Richard Richèse’ gained fame mainly because of the production of the nowadays so sought-after gold-coloured ‘palm tree’ lamps, which are reminiscent of those of Maison Jansen and Maison Charles. He has his own studio where he makes pure bronze statues in a traditional way, which are cast in sand and touched up by hand. Because the statue is cast in sand, each statue is unique and unique.
Signed in the pedestal (8.5 x 8.5 x 3 cm), the whole is 13.5 cm high.
