Shipping lamp. According to tradition this lantern originates from the home of a skipper who, when moving to an elderly home, sold different nautical objects. It is likely this lantern served in the traditional way; it is constructed by clinch bolts and the glass shows little bulbs indicating early manufacturing. The lantern has been wired before, during the restauration we removed the earlier added bulb base so that it can now serve as a hanging lantern.
