Bulach Christmas stand

Ref: 1811030.

This green glass object originates from Swiss. It is, as the title indicates, a Christmas tree stand, made in the city of Bulach. This can be seen at the bottom of the vase. My research on this vase (removing the frame gives a vase) introduced me to the project of Dipl.-Ing. Siegmar Geiselberger. As of 1998 he publishes the Pressglas Korrespondenz (www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de): a wonderful online magazine about ‘pressglas’ related to his collection of glass objects. In 2014 he wrote an article about the vases of Bulach (2014-4) in which he gives an overview of the factory that was founded in 1891. In 2002 the production facility in Bulach was closed. The company, working under the name Vetropack as of 1966, is still active today and is specialised in glass packaging and recycling. According to the specialists of auction website Catawiki this model has been made between 1950 and 1970.

Height: 18 cm, width: 26 cm.
